You do not need a license if you’re showing movies in your own backyard or home. You can stream a movie from any of the major streaming services or purchase a DVD. You can stream a movie from your laptop or ipad. As long as there is an HDMI port you can connect your device to our projector.

Backyard Starz LLC will only provide the equipment stated in our package (Movie Screen, Projector, Speaker and DVD player) and not the entertainment or media. Any other equipment not stated in our standard package detail such as DVDs, video game console, laptops, cable boxes, will not be provided. Backyard Starz LLC does NOT provide licenses and are not held liable to public viewings conducted without a license.

We strongly recommend getting a DVD to prevent any Wi-Fi issues, especially if you believe your Wi-Fi signal is weak. But if you prefer to stream media, you can either get a laptop Wi-Fi range extender or make sure that your laptop is the only devices connected to your Wi-Fi.

Should you need to cancel your reservation, please be sure to call us as soon as possible at 832-894-4638. Cancellations 21 business days or more prior to the event will receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations less than 21 business days prior to the event may result in the loss of your deposit.

In the event that your party is a rain out, Backyard Starz LLC will reschedule for an available date or return your deposit. Rain outs are called within 12 hours of the scheduled date. We do NOT set up if it is raining. We can set up if you have an alternative covered space.

Events within a 10 mile radius of our service area are not charged a deliver fee, events outside of the 10 mile radius will be charged a fee of $3 per mile.

We service Austin, Lakeway, Dripping Springs, Bee Cave, Georgetown, Hutto, Leander, Liberty Hill, Pflugerville, Round Rock, West Lake, and surrounding areas

We cannot guarantee your booking date until we receive a 20% deposit.

Equipment will be inspected upon pickup. If any product is damaged we will assess a fee commensurate with the expense of either repairing or replacing the item.

Yes, we disinfect and clean our chairs after every event.

If you have a turf backyard, you’ll need something heavy to weigh down the screen. Our setup does not include: weights, sandbags or any other weighting-systems other than stakes, we offer weight bag rentals for an additional fee, or you can provide you’re own weights a minimum of 50 lbs in weight.

We set up 1.5 hours prior to sunset and begin breaking down after the 3-hour rental duration. Early setups are available for an additional fee.

Yes, you can keep the rental overnight if you’re setting up yourself. If you’re package includes setup & takedown, and you’d like us to breakdown the next day, we can do so for an additional fee.

We recommend starting the movie about 30 minutes after sunset to ensure you get the best viewing experience. You can check the local sunset times here.
