Payment Policy

This Payment Policy explains how payments, deposits, balances, late fees, delivery fees, add-ons, refunds, and other charges are handled for rentals and services provided by Backyard Starz, LLC (“Backyard Starz,” “Starz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By booking a rental, submitting payment, signing a booking agreement, checking an acceptance box, accepting delivery, allowing setup, taking possession of equipment, or using our services, you agree to this Payment Policy.
1. Deposit Required to Secure Your Date
A deposit is required to reserve your event date.
Unless otherwise stated in your booking confirmation, invoice, or written agreement:
- Most rental packages require a 20% deposit at the time of booking.
- The Family / Drop-Off Package may require a 50% deposit at the time of booking.
Your requested date is not guaranteed until Backyard Starz has received the required deposit and any required booking agreement, waiver, or written confirmation.
2. Remaining Balance
Unless otherwise stated in writing, the remaining balance is due on the day of your event upon completion of setup.
For DIY or drop-off rentals, the remaining balance may be due before or at the time the equipment is delivered, released, or made available to you.
Backyard Starz reserves the right to withhold delivery, setup, equipment release, or service if the required payment has not been made.
3. Accepted Payment Methods
Backyard Starz currently accepts the payment methods listed at booking, which may include Venmo, PayPal, or other approved payment methods.
Available payment methods may change from time to time. Payment instructions will be provided during booking or on your invoice.
4. Late Payments
If any balance remains unpaid after the event, late fees may apply.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, late payments will incur a $50 late fee for each day beyond the first 48 hours following the event.
Customer is responsible for all unpaid balances, late fees, collection costs, attorney’s fees, and other reasonable costs incurred by Backyard Starz in collecting overdue amounts.
5. Delivery Fees
Delivery may be included within Backyard Starz’s standard service area or radius, as stated at booking.
Delivery outside the standard service area may be subject to additional mileage-based, location-based, or access-related fees.
Delivery fees may vary based on distance, package, event location, date, access requirements, parking conditions, stairs, elevators, long carrying distances, or other logistical factors.
6. Add-Ons and Additional Services
Additional charges may apply for optional add-ons or extra services, including but not limited to:
- Additional seating;
- Larger screens;
- Additional speakers;
- Extra tables;
- Weighted items for non-grass setups;
- Early setup;
- Extended rental time;
- Additional delivery distance;
- Special access requirements;
- Additional labor;
- Rush bookings;
- Custom requests.
Any add-ons or extra services should be confirmed in writing before the event whenever possible.
7. Overtime and Extended Rental Time
Unless otherwise stated in writing, the standard rental period is determined by your selected package or booking confirmation.
If your event extends beyond the agreed rental period, additional hourly charges may apply.
Unless otherwise stated in your booking confirmation or written agreement, overtime may be charged at $75 per additional hour.
Overtime is subject to Backyard Starz availability and may not always be possible.
8. Site Delay and Additional Labor Fees
Customer is responsible for ensuring that the setup area is ready and accessible before the scheduled delivery or setup time.
Additional fees may apply if Backyard Starz is delayed or required to perform additional labor because:
- The setup area is not clear or prepared;
- Access is unavailable or delayed;
- Gates, codes, elevators, parking, or venue access are not ready;
- Personal items must be moved;
- Equipment must be carried unusually long distances;
- The customer requests setup changes after arrival;
- The customer is not available when required.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, additional labor or delay time may be charged at $50 per hour.
9. DIY / Drop-Off Package Fees
For DIY or drop-off rentals, Customer is responsible for setup, operation, takedown, repacking, protecting the equipment, and making all equipment ready for pickup or return.
If equipment is not ready for pickup and Backyard Starz personnel must gather, organize, package, repack, or clean up the equipment, a $75 fee may apply.
Additional fees may apply if equipment is wet, dirty, damaged, missing, improperly packed, inaccessible, or not ready at the scheduled pickup time.
10. Cleaning Fees
Backyard Starz may charge cleaning fees for equipment returned dirty, wet, stained, sticky, odorous, or requiring additional cleaning beyond ordinary use.
If a refundable cleaning fee is charged, the fee will be refunded after inspection only if the applicable equipment is returned clean, dry, stain-free, odor-free, and free from excessive dirt, food, drinks, gum, candy, pet hair, slime, markers, paint, mildew, wax, or other residue.
Backyard Starz may withhold all or part of any refundable cleaning fee if additional cleaning is required.
11. Damage, Loss, Theft, and Replacement Charges
Customer is responsible for all damage to, loss of, theft of, destruction of, or excessive cleaning required for Backyard Starz equipment while the equipment is out of Backyard Starz’s possession or otherwise under Customer’s control, except for ordinary wear and tear.
Damage or replacement charges may apply for:
- Punctured, torn, stained, or damaged inflatable chairs;
- Damaged screens, projectors, speakers, stands, cords, media players, tables, containers, pumps, weights, or accessories;
- Missing parts, caps, remotes, cables, adapters, stakes, bags, boxes, or containers;
- Equipment exposed to rain, sprinklers, mud, standing water, food, drinks, pets, smoke, fire, wax, mildew, or permanent stains;
- Equipment returned wet, dirty, improperly packed, incomplete, or unusable.
If any product is damaged, Backyard Starz may retain the deposit. If multiple inflatable items are damaged, Customer may be charged an administrative and overhead fee of $70 per damaged item, in addition to the cost to repair or replace the damaged items.
Replacement charges may be based on the full current replacement cost of the item, plus applicable taxes, shipping, vendor fees, labor, and related costs.
12. Authorization to Collect Amounts Owed
Customer agrees to pay all amounts owed under the booking agreement, invoice, Rental Agreement, Damage Policy, and related Backyard Starz policies.
To the extent permitted by law and applicable payment processor rules, Backyard Starz may invoice, request payment, charge a payment method on file, retain a deposit, or pursue collection for unpaid balances, late fees, damage fees, cleaning fees, replacement costs, missing item fees, overtime fees, delivery fees, labor fees, and other amounts owed.
13. Cancellations, Refunds, and Rescheduling
Deposits, refunds, cancellations, and rescheduling are governed by Backyard Starz’s separate Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy and Weather Policy.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, cancellations made 21 business days or more before the event may be eligible for a full refund of the deposit.
Cancellations made less than 21 business days before the event may result in loss of the deposit.
Weather-related cancellations or rescheduling may be handled differently under the Weather Policy.
14. Failed, Reversed, or Disputed Payments
Customer is responsible for any failed, reversed, disputed, returned, or chargeback payment, unless the charge was made in error.
Backyard Starz may suspend or decline future service until all outstanding balances, fees, and payment issues are resolved.
Customer may be responsible for any reasonable fees, costs, or expenses associated with failed payments, payment disputes, chargebacks, collections, or returned transactions.
15. Pricing Changes
Prices, packages, fees, delivery charges, and add-on rates may change from time to time.
The price shown in your confirmed booking, invoice, or written agreement will generally apply to your event unless you request changes, add services, extend rental time, change the location, or incur additional fees under this Payment Policy or related policies.
16. Customer Acknowledgment
By booking a rental, submitting payment, signing a booking agreement, checking an acceptance box, accepting delivery, allowing setup, taking possession of equipment, or using Backyard Starz equipment or services, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to this Payment Policy.
